Tanika Jellis is a Sydney-based ceramic artist inspired by the natural world, design, and architecture. She pushes the boundaries of clay to create one-off pieces that inhabit the space between functional and sculptural. Working predominantly with stoneware, each piece is hand-built using techniques such as slab building and coiling. Tanika fires her work using a range of methods, including wood, gas, and electric kilns, each contributing unique qualities to the finished surface. She considers how each piece will be used and how it will sit and interact amongst everyday objects in the home.
